[Web][Beta] Premium Estimated FTP: HR extrapolation and a two-lens suggestion modal

What’s new

Premium riders on the web can get two complementary ways to read the same eFTP suggestion. The familiar power-curve path still comes from your strongest 8 minute–1 hour power effort in the recent window. The new HR extrapolation path adds a second watt estimate derived from how power and heart rate line up in your riding, projected toward your lactate threshold heart rate (LTHR)—using the threshold BPM from your profile, or an LTHR estimated from max HR when you have not set threshold HR yourself.

When both numbers are usable, the Estimated FTP suggestion modal shows them as two tappable cards (Power curve vs HR extrapolation). The summary line, suggested watts, and change vs your current eFTP all follow whichever card you select; Tempo initially selects the estimate that differs more from your current eFTP so the first screen matches the stronger signal. You confirm with one Accept for the selected lens, or dismiss without changing. For very large suggested drops, the modal still surfaces a sanity-check reminder before you commit.

Why it helps

You can weigh measured benchmark power against how your cardiovascular system responded in the same period—useful when trainer or pacing quirks make one signal more trustworthy than the other, without bouncing between tools or spreadsheets.

How to try it

On the web, open SettingsProfileTraining (the tab with FTP and heart-rate fields). When Tempo has a suggestion, the Estimated FTP modal opens from the performance area on that tab; if you closed it, use re-estimate when you are ready to revisit it. Tap Power curve or HR extrapolation to compare, then Accept for the lens you want—or dismiss if you are not ready.

Note: eFTP calculation and this suggestion flow require a Premium subscription.
