[Web, AI] Laps now visible to your AI assistant plus new metrics

What’s new

Tempo now exposes FIT-file laps through the hosted MCP workout detail tool. That means rides recorded through Garmin, Wahoo, Hammerhead, or FIT uploads can now return their per-lap breakdown in AI assistants, instead of only showing workout-level stats like load, intensity, and other metrics.

The Web workout lap table also has more auto-hiding columns when the data is available: VAM, Avg Temp, Min HR, and Max Cadence. Ambient temperature cells are now zone-colored to match the Temperature Zones chart.

Why it helps

Workouts often tell their real story interval by interval. Now you can ask an AI assistant about the structure of a FIT-sourced ride, compare climbs or efforts, and spot details like temperature, cadence, and heart-rate changes without manually digging through the workout.

How to try it

On the Web, open any completed workout with laps and check the Laps section.

For AI assistants, go to SettingsAI Assistants, connect Tempo through MCP, then ask for details about a FIT-sourced workout.

Note: Lap details depend on what your device recorded. Some columns only appear when that metric exists, and single-lap files are hidden to avoid noisy “interval” output.

Example

“Show me the laps from my last outdoor ride and call out where power, cadence, or temperature changed the most.”
